Statistical Observation on the Large Salivary Gland of Korean Infants

Abstract
|

|
Authors made a measurement, using ninety Korean infant cadavers(male 26, female 64) of the weight, length and width of the parotid gland, submandibular gland and sublingual gland respectively and also observed the developmental aspect of the above glands during infantile stage.
The results obtained were as follows:
The parotid gland showed about 2 times increment in its weight, about 1.5 times in its length and about 1. 3 times in its width during the infantile stage.
The submandibular´gland showed about 3 times increment in its weight, about 1. 5 times in its length and width.
The sublingual gland showed about 3 times increment in its weight, about 1. 5 times in its length and about 1. 5 times in its width during the infantile stage respectively.
